Sudanophilic Granules of Blood Cells in the Leukemia

Abstract
Author has made a study on sudanophilic granules in leukemic blood cells stained with Sudan III-Hydrosol method in two cases of chronic myeloid and one case of lymphoid leukemia. The following results were obtained: Sudanophilic granules were not found in myeloblasts, except for only a small number of the cells showing a small amount of rarely visible Sudanophilic granules in the cytoplasm.
As maturation of myeloid cells were progressing, the number of Sudanophilic granules were increased, u .tile at the stages of promyelocytes and myelocytes they showed remarkable and sudden increases.
Sudanophilic granules in neutrophiles and eosinophiles were prominently stained and they occupied almost entire cytoplasm of each cells. In 15-16% of neutrophiles however, Sudanophilic granules were not observed and in these cells the nuclei were deEtroyed in various degrees. In basophilic leukocytes and monocytes
i Sudanophilic granules were observed unconstantly and they were not found in lymphoblasts and lymphocytes.
